Sinfonia Cymru
We had a fantastic afternoon at the Hub to watch Sinfonia Cymru perform. Learners were inspired by the talented musicians and had the opportunity to explore body percussion, ask questions and some even adopted the role as “conductor”. Diolch yn fawr iawn!
Coronation Tea Party
DIOLCH YN FAWR
A huge thank you to all those who joined us this afternoon, and for those who baked cakes for our ”Coronation Tea Party”. Da iawn to all the learners who have worked hard this week in the build up. A special shout out to the Criw Cymraeg for serving the cakes, and supporting parents to use their Welsh language skills!
Rivers
To develop our understanding of rivers, we used our bodies to make a river and worked as a group to tell its journey. We started with the source up high and ended in the sea. Along the way we used words such as stream, river, meander, current, tributary and mouth. Bendigedig Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne!
Lighter and Heavier
Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been learning about weight in their Mathematics and Numeracy lessons this week. The learners have explored ‘lighter’ and ‘heavier’, and some have learnt to measure weight using non-standard units and estimate with weight. We have learnt that not all larger objects are heavier than some smaller objects.
Clwb
At After School Club this week, the learners took the opportunity to enjoy the dry weather by working in teams to make their own dens outdoors. We had some wonderful creations and great team work. Bendigedig pawb!
River Journeys
As part of our topic ‘River Journeys’, Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been learning about what a river is and how they are formed. The learners worked together to make their own river in the sandpit and talked about why rivers meander.
Beat in Music
Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne had a visit from Lynsey this week to teach us about beat in music. We had great fun using the claves exploring various styles of music.
Welsh Colour Welly Walk
On our welly walk this week, Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne went on a Welsh colour hunt around the village. We found lots of colours all around us and practised naming these in Welsh.
Dina School
Last week in Dina School, Dina and Wally taught the learners in Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne about the importance of listening skills and played some games with them to help with this.
